If you grew up with Schoolhouse Rock, you already know the song: “Three, oh, three, it’s a magic number … ”
To which we say: Yes, it is, it’s a magic number.
“What’s that got to do with Team Earth?” you say. Well, a little dose of nostalgia at the start of the work week never hurt anybody, but that’s not why we’re posting the video. We’re posting it because Team Earth is fewer than 400 people away from having 5,000 fans on Facebook. And, we figure, what better way to grow the team than by asking current members to invite their friends?
Here’s what you can do. If you think what we’re doing is cool – and since you’re here, we hope you do – please invite three of your friends to become a fan of Team Earth. We won’t stop you from inviting more, of course, but three is, after all, a magic number. Let those three friends know that Team Earth is a new group looking to do big things, backed by the passion of everyday environmentalists, the science of Conservation International, the heft of corporate citizens, and the power of simple actions that people can perform to make a difference.
We don’t think it’s too audacious to suggest that we can get to 5,000 fans by Earth Day, April 22. By inviting your friends to become a fan on Facebook, you’re helping to spread the word, grow the team, and encourage as many individuals as possible to take action for the Earth.
(While you’re at it, if you haven’t taken a pledge to Do More or Do Less for the planet, why not make it your Earth Day resolution?)
Also, keep an eye peeled to this page in the next couple of weeks. We’ve got some cool stuff happening in the days leading up to Earth Day; hope to see all of you around.
