Team Earth (and a lot of other resources) have a lot to say about the value of compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) and other energy-efficient alternatives to traditional light bulbs…But how do you decide if they’re right for you?

In fact, there are LED lamps adaptable to the regular sockets in the ceiling that are even more efficient and durable that the CFLs.
The CFL’s save 80% energy making it a good reason to think about the environment, and the LED technology save more that 95% Energy with a special feature, it can last more than 40.000 hours, so this is even better.
Sorry but those energy saving light-bulbs are way expensive and then they break down within a month or two and they are so full of poisonous mercury you can’t dispose of them normally – you have to take them to a special recycling outlet that is almost impossible to get to without a car.
They just don’t make that much sense environmentally taking those factors into consideration.
